Public / Olympic Gardens / Great British Garden
The Great British Garden was the result of a design competition that offered two amateur garden designers the chance to help design a garden for the Olympic Park. Following an outline brief set by the competition winners, I drew up designs for this garden which sought to unite a number of distinct areas with bold sweeps of texture, form and colour. Ornamental grasses provided a textural foil to the brighter details of long-flowering perennials such as Persicaria amplexicaulis, Stachys officinalis, Veronicastrum and pink Lythrum virgatum.
